How do I use SPLAT?

You can start SPLAT two ways:

  1. By selecting the SPLAT icon from the desktop menubar.

  2. SPLAT picture (icon)
  3. Typing splat and enter within any xterm.

Either way, you will be presented with the SPLAT dialog box.


How do I use the SPLAT dialog box?


SPLAT picture

File Menu


File->Open

Open the desired file here.


File->Save Tab As

Save the Items in current Tab as the specified name.


File->Print Tab

Prints the current Tab window.


File->Quit (Ctrl+Q)

Quit the application here.


Tools Menu


Tools->Clear Filters

Clear the filters.


Tools->New Filter (Ctrl+A)

Creates a new filter.


Tools->Remove Filter (Ctrl+R)

Removes the current filter.


Tools->Edit Filter (Ctrl+E)

Edits the Filter.


Tools->Find Text (Ctrl+F)

Finds the text.


Tools->Compare Files (Ctrl+D)

Compares the files.



SDRR Log Tab

Lets you arrange the data in hexadecimal order based on the Listbox Button. Options are Time, Inj. Rcv, Xmt, Dev. Acid, and Msg. Time corresponds to the appropriate time. 'Inj.' is the type of injection message. 'Rcv' is the receiving facility. 'Xmt' is the transmitting facility. 'Acid' is the Aircraft Identification. 'Msg' is the message. Clicing on a button twice, consecutively, will display the order in the reverse direction.

Help Button (Scenario Information)

This button allows you to display the scenario information for the currently viewed log file. The user can print the scenario information from this dialog by clicking the print button.

Help Button (SPLAT Handbook)

This button allows you to access the SPLAT Handbook.

Help Button (About SPLAT)

This button allows you to access the SPLAT about box.
